Why not SCAD about with us?
SCAD has six accessible minibuses for individual and group use: we help you to travel independently without your disability being a challenge. We can take you to essential appointments such as GP, hospital, physio, chiropodist, shopping or visits to local family and friends. Our day trips take you to places of interest such as the Lakes or the seaside, York, garden centres and many other places.
Who will drive?
All our drivers are trained to meet the standards required by MiDAS (The Minibus Driver Awareness Scheme, run by the Community Transport Association). This means that they are thoroughly assessed and found to be able to drive to an above average standard.
Who can help me?
The membership form asks you about whether you can travel on your own, whether you need to be ableto travel in a wheelchair or can transfer to a seat, so we know before we arrive to collect you. If you need a carer, you can bring one with you. On day trips, every bus has a passenger assistant in addition to the driver to ensure that everyone is safe.

If you are struggling with transport but do not wish to be a member, and you do not have disabled needs, you may be interested in our Volunteer Car Scheme: Freedom Wheels, (this link takes you to another website – but don’t worry, it’s run by us as well).
